“Mlima’s Tale”, by Lynn Nottage

Mlima is a magnificent elephant trapped by the underground international ivory market. As he follows a trail littered by a history of greed. I chose to depict the landscape of Kenya as 4 LED-inlayed rocky monoliths, which move and transform with each scene, along with the projected backgrounds behind. My goal for this design was to show the beauty and scale of Africa, while also transforming it into something artificially smooth and fractured, a representation of the effects the Ivory trade has.
